Tandala Medical Outreach

Tandala Medical OutreachBegun in 1955, today the Tandala Hospital serves as the main reference hospital for more than 500,000 people. Tandala Hospital is located in the Democratic Republic of Congo and manages 35 outlying health centers that supply medical assistance to the people of Central Africa. Civil unrest and economic hardship are a constant reality. Consider also, the serious dilemma that Africa accounts for 70 percent of AIDS cases worldwide. The opportunity and challenge for the Church is tremendous.

Desperately short on medical supplies, Tandala Hospital accepts rolled bandages made from old bed sheets. Members of congregations in the U.S. bring their sheets, or hunt for old sheets at garage sales, which are cut, sewn, and rolled into bandages. These bandages are shipped to Tandala.

Tandala Medical Outreach"The Lord has given the EFCA the privilege of providing much needed medical care in the past through Tandala Hospital. This ministry of compassion has resulted in hundreds of people coming to Christ and basic medical needs being met. Now, as this ministry suffers due to the instability in the country, I pray that once again we will respond generously to support the ministry of the hospital. Please prayerfully consider giving sacrificially to this need!

~Dr. William Hamel, EFCA President
